Taking first place in the manufacturer table of the annual review of UK car owners’ opinions published by Auto Express magazine. Winning six of the ten categories in which each company is judged, to scoop a total score of over 93 per cent and rank first among 29 brands. This is the first time that Porsche has led the way in the Driver Power survey. True to its goal of building the sports car in each market segment, the German marque topped every class in the ride and handling category.
“Porsche’s set of results are nothing short of phenomenal. Taking six of our ten category wins in our brand rundown, Porsche tops the Driver Power manufacturer table. Owners tell us their cars offer the scintillating performance and handling they might reasonably expect, but there’s far more to the ownership experience than that,” commented Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief, Auto Express.
“No other firm’s cars are built as well as Porsche’s, while its cabins are second to none both in terms of design and quality. Everywhere you look, the firm impresses; from the efficacy of its safety systems to overall reliability, owners are delighted. A worthy winner of our Driver Power brands survey, no doubt.”
Porsche Cars GB is the manufacturer’s fourth-largest market globally. Annual UK sales in 2020 were 14,283, with the Taycan taking second place, behind the Macan compact SUV. The Taycan is the first purely battery electric Porsche and it has sparked a revolution in how EV sports cars perform. In the first six months of this year, the Taycan (including the new Cross Turismo) has become the top-selling model.
The success of the Taycan demonstrates the progress of Porsche on its path of electrification. In parallel, the iconic 911 sports coupé continues to lead its market segment, with models like the new 911 GT3 setting the benchmark for high performance road cars.

To the extent that fuel and energy consumption or CO₂ values are given as ranges, these do not relate to a single, individual car and do not constitute part of the offer. Optional features and accessories can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics which may result in a change in fuel or energy consumption and CO₂ values. Vehicle loading, topography, weather and traffic conditions, as well as individual driving styles, can all affect the actual fuel consumption, energy consumption, electrical range, and CO₂ emissions of a car.
